The Administration of the Department

The governing bodies of the Department are the Chair, the Department Assembly, the Directors of Divisions, and the General Assemblies of the Divisions. The Chair of the Department is elected by the Professors and serving Lecturers of the Department. The Directors of Divisions are elected by the members of the Divisions. The Department Assembly consists of the Professors and serving Lecturers of the Department, one representative from each category of the Laboratory Teaching Staff (LTS) and the Special Technical Laboratory Staff (STLS), as well as two representatives of the Department’s students (one undergraduate and one postgraduate student).

The professors and lecturers participate in the Department Assembly. The representatives of the members of the Special Educational Staff (SES), the Laboratory Teaching Staff (LTS), and the Special Technical Laboratory Staff (STLS) are elected from among their respective members. The representatives of the students are elected by the ensembles of the corresponding active students, via a joint ballot and a direct, global and secret voting.

The Committees of the Department, which are formed by the Head for the study and implementation of certain issues of the Department, also assist in the administrative work.
